- Check the status history for alerting and notification delivery first. A dashboard outage is an inconvenience; missed or delayed alerts mean you learn about downtime from customers.
- Look at data ingest incidents separately. Delayed ingest can trigger false alerts or hide real ones, and dropped data leaves gaps you can't backfill.
- Confirm which region or site your account runs on, since many vendors report status per region and an incident in another region may not affect you.
- Keep a second, independent check (for example a basic uptime monitor from another vendor) on your most important page so a monitoring outage doesn't leave you blind.
